Muscle Biopsy part 2

Gabriel had his muscle biopsy 2 days ago. Everything when as good as can be expected. He woke up from anesthesia fast, wanted his "Mama" and the nurse said he was yelling mamma for me. How I love my sweet man! The surgeon cut out a dinosaur shaped bandage for him, said to keep it on for 2 days. I took it off today, the site looked great, has 4 steri strips and the skin looked closed and no sign of infection (fingers and toes crossed). Only needed tylenol for the first 24 hours. He has been eating extremely well too! Yesterday and today he has taken his 2 day time feeds by mouth, and just the tube feed at night.

So the wait is on..Doctor said it would take a week or two to get the results.. Although I don't want anything wrong with my baby, I know there is, and I just want some answers, I really hope the biopsy can lead us in the right direction..

Just a little history of my prince Gabriel

Gabriel was born October 12, 2009, 6lb 4oz. We had no indication Gabriel was going to be special. Gabriel had trouble with keeping his temp up, and had some apnea when he was 2 days old. They never did find the cause, but treated him with antibiotics and sent us home. As the weeks passed I noticed Gabriel didnt eat very much and would get tired easy, and very floppy. I brought all the concerns to the ped and he reasurred me everything would be ok and some babys just take thier time..
So Gabriel did take his time, and around 6 months old we finally went to our first specialist. GI. I was certain he aspirated one night, I took him to the ER, they instructed me to take him to the ped in the morning and get a GI consult.
The GI dr is excellent! She immediatly knew something was wrong. Gabriel was about 10lbs at this time and not even on the growth charts. We had a video swallow 2 days later and he aspirated on the first swallow!
Since then its been a blur of visits to specialists. Basicly they dont have a diagnosis yet for all of his symptoms, hypotonia, aspiration, sensory issues, developmental delay, and sleep apnea but im pretty sure he out grew.
Gabriel has had pretty much any test they could come up with if he fit the symptoms, nothing has turned up. The only abnormals are that he had high liver enzymes several times, high amonia, and urinates white chalky substance..But no answers for any of this. The next test will be a muscle biopsy. From there im not sure.
My lil man doesnt know anything is different about him, he is the happiest little guy you'd ever meet. Im so proud to call him my son, he has come along way, and I know he will continue to make progress!
